Dr. Lacey Nevel, D. C.

Dr. Lacey Nevel is a vitalistic chiropractor, international speaker, and retired birth doula whose work is rooted in a singular conviction: that the human body, when free from interference, is capable of extraordinary healing.

A proud Oklahoma native and University of Oklahoma alumna, Dr. Lacey's journey took her to Dallas, Texas, where she earned her Doctorate in Chiropractic from Parker University. It was there that she discovered her calling to transform lives at the most foundational level, beginning with the earliest chapters of the human experience.

Dr. Lacey holds advanced training through the International Chiropractic Pediatric Association, Pediatric Experience, Sacred Doula, and BIRTHFIT, and is Webster Certified through the ICPA. She is recognized as a leading voice in prenatal, postpartum, and pediatric chiropractic care, and travels the world teaching seminars that equip chiropractors with the knowledge and confidence to serve families at the highest level.

Dr. Lacey serves as a mentor to chiropractors across the country, guiding practitioners to build purpose-driven practices rooted in vitalistic philosophy and genuine community connection.

Her life's purpose is to serve — with depth, intention, and an abundance of love. Alongside her husband and partner in practice, Dr. Colten Nevel, she has built Free Spirit Chiropractic in Tulsa, Oklahoma into a sanctuary where families are not simply cared for, but truly seen. Together, they are committed to elevating the consciousness, authenticity, and wholeness of every individual who walks through their doors.

Dr. Colten Nevel, D. C.

Dr. Colten Nevel is a vitalistic chiropractor, entrepreneur, and relentless pursuer of human potential — a man who has never once accepted the ceiling others assumed was there.

A Tulsa native, Dr. Colten grew up deeply shaped by this city's distinct character and strong sense of community. His roots in athletics instilled in him a competitive drive and an early fascination with the body's capacity to perform, heal, and adapt. That curiosity led him to Northeastern State University, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Biology with a focus in Nutrition and Dietetics — and where he first encountered the transformative principles of chiropractic philosophy.

Dr. Colten went on to earn his Doctorate of Chiropractic from Parker University alongside his partner in life and practice, Dr. Lacey Nevel. He holds advanced training in prenatal and pediatric care through the ICPA, BIRTHFIT, and Pediatric Experience, and is Webster Certified through the ICPA. He has a particular passion for serving children who have been labeled with sensory disorders or learning disabilities — young lives where conventional approaches have fallen short and a different kind of care is needed most.

Dr. Colten's mission is straightforward, even if the work is anything but: to help people shed whatever is standing between them and the full, vibrant experience of being alive. As co-founder of Free Spirit Chiropractic and a mentor to chiropractors building purpose-driven practices, he leads with vision, grit, and an unwavering belief that more is always possible — for his patients, his team, and the profession he loves.

Dr. Madeline Boyd, D. C.

Dr. Madeline Boyd, D.C., is a second-generation chiropractor who is passionate about helping people reconnect to the body’s God-given ability to heal, adapt, and self-regulate. She earned her undergraduate degree from University of Central Oklahoma and completed her doctorate at Parker University.

Her approach is rooted in nervous-system based chiropractic care, with a focus on understanding the body as an integrated system rather than isolated symptoms. She holds advanced training in Webster Technique, International Chiropractic Pediatric Association principles, and BirthFit, and she has a special passion for supporting women through pregnancy, postpartum, and every stage of family life.

Dr. Madeline is deeply inspired by the original meaning of the word “doctor,” from the Greek docere, meaning “to teach.” This shapes her care philosophy - taking time to educate, empower, and walk alongside her community so they can better understand their bodies and feel confident in their health decisions.

She strives to create a calm, welcoming space where patients feel seen, supported, and encouraged to pursue healing from the inside out.

Dr. Jake Jones, D.c.

Dr. Jake Jones D.C. is an Oklahoma native, and received his bachelor’s from Ottawa University where he majored in biology and received my Doctor of Chiropractic from Cleveland University-Kansas City.

Dr. Jake started seeing a chiropractor when he was 15 years old, and chiropractic tremendously helped his lower back pain. It was in school though, through various clubs and seminars where he fell in love with the philosophy, science, and art of chiropractic. Through these events he learned that chiropractic is about much more than just pain. These seminars shined a light on the body’s innate ability to heal itself of things other than just physical issues. Jake continues to be a student by attending post-grad seminars and courses to integrate into practice and life.

He loves working with people of all ages and walks of life to help them reconnect to their inborn wisdom and express their life to the fullest. “My highest attention is to allow Innate to lead the way. I’m honored to be a witness of the potent medicine each of you carry and to be the one invited to dance together while your Self expands its capacity of Being.”

Outside of the office, Dr. Jake is enjoying yoga, listening to music, being outdoors, and co-teaching chiropractic seminars to other doctors and students.

You can find her always connecting with others, especially the kiddos, as she finds so much joy in watching people discover their own strength and confidence through healing and self-discovery.

What drew her most to Free Spirit is its unique and elevated approach to healing — one that honors the mind, body, and spirit together. She is truly inspired by the mission to help others find balance, peace, and empowerment through holistic wellness, and says she is so grateful to be part of it.

Outside of FSC, she loves to be outside soaking up the sunshine, spending time with my cat and dog or friends and family, working out, or listening to music.

Nyah moved to Tulsa after graduating with a Bachelor’s in Marketing from Drew University located in New Jersey. She is a big fan of all things creative, art, and outdoor activities like hiking and running.

She wanted to be apart of FSC because she loves what the brand stands for but more importantly, for her, she loves what the people stand for. “The people and community first focus are what first drew me in and keeps rewarding me everyday. I sure have found my purpose through FSC while also regulating my mind, body, and spirit.”

She enjoys helping people in our community and the holistic approach that FSC provides for people. “I have found my purpose here at Free Spirit and I wouldn’t change one thing that lead me here because it’s where I’m meant to be.”

karlie Deshazo

Tech/ Creative Care Coordinator + Chiropractic Advocate

Karlie is a small town girl who just recently moved here to Tulsa from Tahlequah, OK. She love the outdoors and all things animals; cats, dogs, chickens, you name it and she is a BIG musical theater nerd. Psychology is her passion and she will be graduating with her bachelor’s in Psychology in December.

Karlie came into FSC as an actual practice member looking for natural management when it came to her scoliosis. She walked into our doors with a hot pink brace at the age of 15 as a last resort before surgery and walked out a month later without her brace! She has been a life long practice member and chiropractic advocate ever since!

She is so excited to be joining Free Spirit Chiropractic! Karlie has been a patient with us since we opened our doors in 2018 and has seen miracles in her own life and cannot wait to witness more of those in other people’s lives. “FSC has truly become like family and am so thankful and honored to now be apart of their team and pour into the Tulsa community as they have poured into me!”
